Fast Dry Alkyd Metal Primer
Description: This metal primer is
designed as a primer for use in situations where quick
drying economical primer is required. AQP forms a
tight rust inhibitive film. Low cost, ease of application
and consistent batch to batch color make it well suited
for use in steel fabrication including structural steel,
tanks, storage vessels and a variety of other
equipment where consistency and high production
rates are required.

MIXING & THINNING
Mixing: Power mix until color and consistency are
•Spray: Up to 12 oz/ gal with HJ105
•Brush & Roll Up 12 oz/gal with HJ-52
Pre-application: Flush all equipment with thinner
Temperature: Application range from 60F-100F
surface temperature. Do not apply below 50F.
Method: Apply one coat maintaining a wet edge to
achieve a DFT of 2-3 Mils. Multiple passes are
recommended to achieve proper DFT.
Inspection: Visually inspect for voids in coating
film. A second coat in contrasting color is
recommended for adequate hiding.
Clean up & Disposal: After use, immediately flush
all equipment with Thinner HJ105. Dispose of all
containers, solvents, and unused material in
accordance with local, state
Times based on 75F
Dry to touch: min
Dry to recoat: before 2 hours after 48
Dry to topcoat: before 2 hours after 48
Final cure: 24 hrs
Dry times are widely affected by weather
conditions and film thicknesses.
To eliminate recoat / topcoat windows use
Fleet Line Series Primer.
