PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS:

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Disulfide (HJ-22S) or Molybdenum Disulfide Coating is an extremely slick, dry film lubricant coating. HJ-22S

has an extremely low coefficient of friction of 0.03 -- lower than that of Teflon, Graphite, or Molybdenum

Disulfide (HJ-33S). The film is remarkably durable compared to many other lubricant materials and can

withstand tremendously high loads of over 300,000 psi! HJ-22S has unsurpassed performance properties

for lubricity, non-stick, low drag, wear life, and load rating.

HJ-22S is an excellent release material for plastic molds, extrusion dies, and other release applications.

HJ-22S can eliminate the need for liquid lubricants or can be used with petrochemical oils, greases,

synthetic oils, silicone lubricants, and hydraulic fluids. It has an affinity for lubricants and maintains a

hydrodynamic layer. It helps to hold oils or greases on the surface, increasing lubrication even more.

At only 0.5 microns (0.0000”) thick, the coating can be applied to high-precision parts without

tolerance problems.

HJ-22S is also a fairly inert and non-toxic material that has been used in medical device and food

processing applications. It is applied to customer substrates by an ambient temperature high velocity

process. It will not anneal or warp substrate materials.HJ-22S can also be used alone, or in combination

with our PVD hard coatings for even greater durability!

SURFACE PREPARATION

 

Surface must be clean, dry, and in sound condition. Remove all oil, dust, grease, dirt, loose rust, and

other foreign material to ensure adequate adhesion.

Refer to product Application Bulletin for detailed surface preparation information.

Minimum recommended surface preparation:

**Iron & Steel: SSPC-SP6, 2 mil profile

**Concrete/Masonry: SSPC-SP13/NACE 6, or

ICRI 03732, CSP1-3

**Aluminum/Galvanizing: SSPC-SP1

Spot Prime / Touch-up: SSPC-SP3
