Premium Red Oxide Rust Preventative Primer
DESCRIPTION: The premium red oxide, rust preventative primer for ferrous metals provides excellent wetting characteristics and high build and can be applied over light residual rust that cannot be removed by wire brushing or sandblasting. Primarily used for priming structural steel in the field. For handrails and other metal surfaces subject to friction-type contact, use Honest(43-5).

MATIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET
All surfaces must be cured, clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, rust, stains,
grease, oil, wax, and other contaminants. Remove all loose, peeling, or
chalky paint by sanding, scraping, high-pressure washing, sandblasting or
other appropriate methods. Glossy surfaces should be dulled to provide a
roughened surface for good adhesion.
• CAUTION: Scraping or sanding surfaces of older buildings (especially pre-
1978) may release dust containing lead or asbestos. EXPOSURE TO
LEAD OR ASBESTOS CAN BE VY HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment during surface
preparation, and finish cleanup of any residues by water-washing all
• This product can neither cause nor prevent or cure the growth of mold,
mildew, or other forms of fungus. Excessive moisture and inadequate
ventilation are the main conditions that promote their growth. Correct any
such conditions before painting.
• Sandblasted or newly cleaned metal must be prime-coated the same day

Store in a dry area. Protect from freezing. Extreme temperatures may cause
paint to become unusable. For example: Freezing and thawing may cause
paint to gel, and high heat may cause a solid skin to form.
