Quick Drying Clear Urethane Alkyd Varnish
Description: Honestjoy’S MARINE VARNISH 022 is a quick-drying clear urethane alkyd varnish.

Application method: Best results will be obtained with a flat varnish brush. Spray application is possible
with most types of spray equipment after thinning, but this application method is
mainly subject to specific local conditions, so no general guidelines can be given.

Indicated film thickness, dry: 25 micron/1.0 mil
Indicated film thickness, wet: 50 micron/2 mils

Safety: Handle with care. Before and during use, observe all safety labels on packaging and
paint containers. Avoid inhalation, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and do
not swallow. Take precautions against possible risks of fire or explosions as well as
protection of the environment. Apply only in well ventilated areas.
SURFACE New wood: Saturate the dry surface with a commercial antimould fluid, preferably made from
PREPARATION: fungicide dissolved in white spirit. Apply one coat Honestjoy’S MARINE VARNISH 022 thinned
with % Thinner 019. Apply a second coat Honestjoy'S MARINE VARNISH 022 thinned
5-10%. Finally apply 3-5 coats Honestjoy'S MARINE VARNISH 022 undiluted.
For the best result rub with dry or wet fine sandpaper and dust off between coats for a smooth
Previously varnished wood: Wash surface with suitable cleaning agent. Do not use detergents
unless they are removed completely, as otherwise residues can spoil the drying properties and
give adhesion problems. Proceed as for new wood. In some cases the antimould treatment and
the first thinned coats can be omitted.
Note: Ammonia water may discolour oak, mahogany and teak.
APPLICATION The surface must be completely clean and dry. Do not apply under humid conditions or at
CONDITIONS: temperatures below 5°C/41°F. The moisture content in the wood should not exceed 16%.
Recoating: Maximum recoating intervals related to later conditions of exposure (°C/68°F):
